@deadquarewalking

@deadquarewalking is an auto-ethnographic, documentary game. The game visualizes the 24-hour journey of a street photographer wandering Orlando’s #dangerousbydesign, urban landscape on Halloween 2013.

Taking on the role of both artist and curator, players are challenged to re-visualize the photographer's journey on their own creative terms as they use hashtags to generate unique collages of images captured via Instagram during the photographer's trek.

@deadquarewalking was developed in 2013-2014 by UCF graduate student David Moran in collaboration with UCF School of Visual Arts & Design (SVAD) professor Dr. J. Michael Moshell.

A 15-minute video containing elements of the journey can be seen at this Youtube location. Portions of this video may also appear during your experience of @deadquarewalking.

NOTE: At this time (1 April) you will need to use the Safari browser on a Macintosh computer to see the videos in this game. We are working to fix up the videos so that they can be seen on other browsers and computers.
